the coolest bird

This is one of our bridges by the Locks.  It goes up and down and lets the boats through. JD loves to watch this process.  He is fascinated by it. So when our car is the first car, he has a splendid view and we sit and watch...[mostly because momma has no choice... but to sit and watch].

Yesterday we noticed that JD was actually focusing on one bird in particular.

That one!  We named it the "Cool Bird" . Why?  Well the bridge went up, the bridge went down...
That bird, the " Cool Bird ", NEVER MOVED.

Yes you can spot him even without the arrow. He simply sat on that rail and chilled out and enjoyed the ride.

Even when the bridge was going down. All the other birds were flying off and flapping their wings and making a mess.  The " Cool Bird " just hung out.

I think JD thinks he is the "cool dog"

I think both JD and momma are crazy and I want to get home and sitting here watching her take pics with her cell phone is just strange.

Mhh.  Just the same, wonder what "Cool Bird" is up to today?

I've never seen a bridge go up and down... I can see why JD would think this is entertaining. Then to notice the bird enjoying the free ride must have just been an added bonus. Cool indeed.

It was either a cool bird or absolutely scared to freaking death.

Foley, the bridge goes up on the hour to let the water traffic through. The bird was not scared, just cool. We saw the bridge go up today. Can't be sure it was the same bird, but that spot was occupied with "a" cool bird who just hung on as the bridge went up and down. Going back with a better camera and my close up lense. JD wants to know that bird!

Badges!? Oh, good! We need stinkin' badges.
