savories- another recipe

Okayyy, I finally got momma to sit and type the savories recipe.... You are welcome. ENJOY!

2 cups whole wheat flour
3/4 cup brown rice cooked {we like it cooked in chicken stock}
2/3 cup cooked carrots, green beans and or peas {Yes, you can add them raw to the rice and cook together}
½ cup raw oats/or oatmeal
½ cup skim milk [you can substitute low sodium chicken stock for milk]
2 tbsp. fat free ricotta
2 tbsp. low fat plain yogurt
2 tbsp. olive oil
2 tsp of thyme, rosemary [ like chicken seasoning without onion]
1 tbsp. brewer’s yeast {this can be omitted if your dog is sensitive to it}
You can add garlic powder.
One egg

Prepare a baking tray by spraying it with baking spray Preheat the oven at 350
1. Mix all dry ingredients except the cooked rice
2. Food process all the remaining ingredients
3. Once the wet ingredients are processed, [ they look like a thick milkshake ],
4. Add your dry to the wet and mix.
5. Adjust for moisture, you might need to add a little more milk/stock or oats.
You should end up with a stiff dough
6. Let the dough sit for about 10 minutes.
7. Now, split your dough, you can actually freeze half
8. Flatten your dough to a ¼ of an inch thickness.
9. Cut in small squares I use a 1 inch by 1 inch square biscuit cutter.
10. Drop on the tray you have prepared with baking spray
11. Paint the squares with egg white [you can omit this step but we like CRISPY]
12. BAKE for about 15-20 minutes [it depends on your oven]
13. Store in the fridge or freezer.

MAKE SURE THAT YOU COUNT THESE TREATS AS PART OF THE DAILY CALORIC INTAKE. [she is such a killjoy!]
