Do I dare ask what the bash is?

My Dearest Foley, this annual event, held at White Dog Cottage is basically the equivalent of the biggest, best family reunion. All the Bichons who graduated from White Dog Cottage of Tidewater Bichon Frise Rescue  and  their two leggeds get together to celebrate, share a fab meal and make and share memories. It is truly an event that takes a whole year of planning.

From food, {did I mention the FOOD???? OMD there is some awsome food, just work it outside auntie Robin's line of sight... or you get the diet lectures] to games, to raffles, to outfits, to pictures, etc, every detail is tended to by our staff two leggeds. It is so cute to see that they think this is their party.  Foley, truly this is where all of us Bichons , from newly adopted to old adopter's compare notes, share tips, gossip, and plan for the year.

The two leggeds think they are bringing us. Isn't that cute?  Fact is we are bringing them. Some concessions are always made. One being the whole grooming before the event, I personally had to make sure momma saw Lolly and got her hair done in time. And yes, I set the example by allowing Miss Margie to groom me before the event. Two, that dressing theng. Momma does eventually relent and take our "outfits" off. We do not need to revisit that whole jean glamor bit from last year. Suffice it to say that as ticked off as I was about my Cynthia Rawley jean, tulle and skull outfit... JD positively looked like a wannabe member of the Village Dogs.... NOOOOOO momma jean coveralls are NEVER meant to be GLAM. Shudder.   We will have NONE of that this year.  I have picked out my outfit and it is much more MOI.

And YES, I veto any two legged outfit with a Bichon caricature. I will not be seen with a human wearing one of those.  My family knows that.

It is always wonderful to sit around and listen to all the experiences our newly placed Bichons are having. You cannot underestimate the value of advice and input from an older Bichon. Some mommas require gentle training. Some require a firm paw. More importantly, this is our time to really chit chat and catch up with each other's new lives.  As with any party, some romances are born, some die, some gossip and ya yas are shared and friendships are forged.  We will not talk about Miss Tootsie's and JD's "whatevers", or THE WENDY's flirting with a certain dog ...

I am planning on spending a little quality time on Uncle Jack's lap. He is hard to corner since he is a host, he is usually hopping around. I will happily sit in auntie Robin's lap if she does not say the word DIET. In fact, I am proposing a moratorium on that word for the whole Bash.  I am also planning to talk to Freddie and meet the new White Dog Cottage Residents. Hopefully Miss Rosie Bichon will be gracious enough to do the introductions.

I apologize in advance to all two leggeds for JD's unabashed lap hopping. He just does not know boundaries and he is a belly rub.....addict. If he jumps on your lap, give him a cursory rub and he will think you are a lousy belly rubber and he will be on his way.

Also to my uncle Phil who is "working" and will miss the BASH, a fat raspberry to you!

Now, Foley do you see why I am excited?
