PACK vs privacy?

Ok. It is barely 7 and the momma is baking ... already. Either momma is crazy or we are going to have loads of leftovers OR.... hmm could it be??? Oh my... I think it is... The Dowi, the Adam and the nonna are coming!!!!! Full House!!! Never at a loss for a belly rub. Always getting the best nibbles... oh... that also means Fip is coming. Doing the happy dance.

Hm. Downside. That also means lots more work for me. Let me explain.
In polite 4legged society, when you are part of a pack, you sleep next to each other sharing warmth, you reinforce all the trust issues by being together, at all times. At meal time, at rest time, and play time and most of all at sleep time. Alas... 2leggeds have this weird mentality. Come sleep time, they all scatter to various bedrooms and sleep in their "own"bed. Do you have any idea how hard it is to keep tract of 6 or 7 people scattered all over the house? It makes life difficult. And what's the attraction in isolation anyway? In a bed alone... you don't get snuggled. You don't get soft, furry toasties, and you are ALONE. You have no protection from anything, YOU ARE ALONE. I don't get it at all.

I would much rather share a bed, a couch, a chair, sleeping bag... rock... whatever, with my pack, than sleep in a big huge bed ALONE. But... 2leggeds seem to value privacy above safety, security, comfort, logic and pack survival. GO figure.

My adaptation to their bizarre needs has been the morning rounds of hellos and hugs and kisses.
Momma and daddy, I love our bed and I don't want to change our arrangements, but please understand if I am compelled to "visit" Dowi in the middle of the night. I just need to know everyone is OK.

Phew. Understanding humans is difficult. They are illogical. Best we can do is cope.
