Dearest Lori

Dearest Lori,

I know you are celebrating right now. I know that this morning you welcomed your beloved Rudy and I know that that you had been apart for a while, so you are catching up. You should know a few things.

When you passed on, Rudy went back to White Cottage. Rudy became the soul of White Cottage.
He adopted auntie Robin and she adopted him. Both shared history and both missed you, but in each other they found comfort and love. Lori, you should know that Rudy changed the soul of many people and for a little white dog he left rainbows of memories and he will be sorely missed.
We were lucky enough to have shared our life with Rudy while you were sick. We all loved him here and he put up with so much horseplay.

I understand momma's tears. I understand auntie Robin's tears. I feel sad too. But, Lori you must know that we take comfort in knowing that Rudy went from auntie Robin's loving arms back to yours. Just kiss him for us. Give him lots and lots of kisses. We did not have time to say goodbye. I know he is out of pain and I know he is now at peace. His passing was quick as was his illness. We are still trying to process it . Lori, bear with us for a bit. You will be hearing your name a lot.

We are here comforting each other and remembering that this a journey and one we all will take.
Rest in peace Rudy. Or as momma used to call you... Rodolfo Valentino, king of hearts.
