Tasty Tuesday: BACK IN THE DAYS...
Back in my puppy days, I traveled in style. I had a puppy carrier and momma wore me like her favorite shirt. I loved my puppy bag. I have no idea why momma stopped using it. I wish she would dust it off and use it again. I am game.
Sigh. Nostalgia.
Back in those days, momma also used to make me something delicious that she called Meat Mousse.
It was one of my fav foods. Today, JD really shocked me. He told me that Meat Mousse is actually a medication delivery device.
Really??? Nahhh! For real???? Momma put my vitamins and calcium in there?
Now you tell me?????
But... it tasted so good! It really did. Look, just the memory of it is making my mouth all watery.
Ok, so while I am completely opposed philosophically to being manipulated into taking meds... I am wondering if there is anything wrong in craving meat mousse, even knowing that it might be "laced".
Mhh I bet "unlaced" it would be fantastic. Momma... want to make amends????
I could forgive you, if I had some meat mousse...
Meat Mousse Recipe:
Meat mousse utilizes all the meats that are "spent" in making a stock.
So, make your chicken, turkey, pork ,beef stock ...
When your soup is made, strain out the veggies, TRIM OFF the skin and fat off the meats [we do that before and after it is cooked] and food process until creamy by adding a tiny bit of stock. That is MEAT MOUSSE.
Momma always sneaks in sweet potatoes and we do not do beef or chicken, so our Mousse is usually turkey and pork
Momma used to fill ice cube trays with it and that would give her the one portion she needed to "deliver" my vitamins. I liked it both ways, iced and warm.
Mhhh, Meat Mousse... Mommmmmmmaaaaaa, I need my vitamins! Do we still have the puppy carrier???

Meat Mousse? I never had that but it does sound delicious even if it is used for medication dispensing. BOL
