Knowledge is POWER on VACCINES

When they say PROTOCOL, do they really mean PROFIT???
Ask yourself that question.
Your dog was properly immunized as puppy. Why are they telling you that they need more shots?

What is the Duration Of Immunity {DOI} to Canine Vaccines?
According to Dr Ronald Schultz, a  leading veterinary immunologist at the forefront of vaccine research and chair of the University of Wisconsin’s Department of Pathobiological Sciences the DOI for the following vaccines is as follows:

Distemper- 7 years by challenge/15 years by serology
Parvovirus – 7 years by challenge/ 7 years by serology
Adenovirus – 7 years by challenge/ 9 years by serology
Canine rabies – 3 years by challenge/ 7 years by serology

It is Dr. Schultz's conclusion that: “Vaccines for diseases like distemper and canine parvovirus, once administered to adult animals, provide lifetime immunity.” “Are we vaccinating too much?” JAVMA, No. 4, August 15, 1995, pg. 421.

Next time a vet tech "informs you" that "yearly vaccines are due"...be kind, and educate that tech as to what "lifetime immunity" means. Stand firm, polite, but resolute. SHAME them for not knowing the latest information...Be "Shocked"...be firm...YOU ARE RIGHT.

When it comes to shots... tell them to STICK IT... elsewhere!

Suggest they focus on wellness care as a means to increase income. Maybe... offering a class in canine nutrition?  Or maybe offering a class in agility training? Or maybe a class in allergies management...or even a class on how to properly care for a puppy or older dog....

Do say: "My dog's health should not be compromised to keep you in business".

You are welcome, small breeds are at risk big time from combination shots.
