Hannukah latkes: Tasty Tuesday

I am in it for the chopped livah...
I am in it for the brisket...
I am in it for the roasted chicken...

But you know... these potatoes are not bad at all.

Hey I am trying to get into the spirit.

Safe for DOGS "chopped liver"

Ingredients
1 pound chicken livers rinsed, drained, cut off fat.
1 cup chicken broth
2 carrots cut in small dice
2 extra-large eggs, hard-cooked, peeled, and chunked
2 TBSP minced fresh parsley leaves
2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves
1 teaspoons kosher salt
1/2 cup quick cooking oatmeal that has been "bloomed" in the chicken stock.

Poach the carrots, until tender in the chicken stock
Add livers in the chicken stock and cook until all the pink is gone.
Place carrots and livers in the bowl of the food processor,

"Bloom"  the oatmeal in the stock for 5 minutes

Pour it in the food processor

Hard boil the eggs and peel them, cut them into chunks.

Food process the carrots and livers to desired consistency. [we like some texture, so not too fine]

Take out of the food processor, add eggs and season and SERVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE it!

Yea yea yea, small portions. It is rich, [NAGGING WOMAN! Momma did you know that nagging ages you ???][that should slow down the nagging....]

LIVAH!  It is yummy, And THIS is safe for us !!!!!

Your momma sounds like my mommy--always trying to limit our food fun. ;-) Hey, humans, it's the holidays. Time to splurge a little!
