TASTY tuesday: GELT I CAN LIVE WITH

So, this is my dog safe version of Hanukkah gelt.

You make some wonderful stock.  You slice a bunch of cleaned carrots.  You poach the carrots in the stock.  About 10 minutes at simmer. We like them fork tender, not mushy.  You serve them to your grateful dog who now has his/her own "GELT".

Chocolate... ick, I can live without the poison. but I do love a tradition!

Kirby, traditionally at Hanukkah children are given "gelt". Gelt is Yiddish for gold. The "gold" are chocolate coins that are covered in foil. Well, I am a dog. Chocolate would kill me. But round orange carrots...can pass for the gold coins and they are delish! So, cook some carrots in wonderful stock and gimme gelt!

Way to go Momma! Way to make the gelt doggy friendly. You're right Vie, it's a tradition the pups should NOT be left out of!
