Mitt Romney Seamus Dog
The creator of the Dogs Against Romney website says he is not at all satisfied by Mitt Romney's latest comments about his 1983 decision to transport the family dog in a crate on top of the car during a drive to Canada.
ABC's Diane Sawyer asked the Republican hopeful if he would travel with his dog that way again.
"Certainly not with the attention it's received," Romney said.
Dogs Against Romney creator Scott Crider said he was stunned Romney apparently regretted the 1983 incident only because of its political consequences, and not because there's anything weird or inhumane about making a dog spend 12 hours on top of a speeding station wagon.
"We continue to be stunned -- and disappointed -- by Mitt Romney," Crider said in an email.
Ann Romney was less apologetic, even when Sawyer reminded the Romneys that their dog, Seamus, suffered diarrhea during the trip.
"The dog loved it," Ann Romney said. "Once, he -- we traveled all the time and he -- he ate the turkey on the counter. I mean, he had the runs. But -- he would see that crate and, you know, he would, like, go crazy because he was going with us on vacation. It was to me a kinder thing to bring him along than to leave him ... in a kennel for two weeks, so."
In a testament to the power of dog lovers to keep the Seamus story alive, Sawyer asked the question partly because Crider instructed Dogs Against Romney's 47,000 Facebook fans to bombard ABC News with questions about the 1983 incident in advance of the interview. Sawyer said it was one of two questions ABC had received the most.
"I'm tremendously proud of the tens-of-thousands of highly engaged members of our 'Super Pack' on Facebook who flooded Diane Sawyer with questions about the Romneys' dog cruelty incident," Crider said. "The pack wants answers and, honestly, we keep hoping the Romneys will begin to understand the cruelty -- and illegality -- of what they did to their dog. Sadly, the Romneys keep falling short."

This is insane! So, by his logic, it would be okay to strap HIM to the roof of the car. Anyone got any bungee cords?

Thank you for reminding us all what a disgusting, self-absorbed, backward *ss PIG Mitt Romney is. Ever since I heard the dog abuse story I've hated this arrogant P.O.S.'s guts in the world's worst way.
