Silvie con QUESO

Once upon a lovely sunrise
Awoke a pup who wanted cheese fries

She stretched and yawned and curled her toes
Then rolled and scratched and twitched her nose

"Lamb? again mom?" she stomped her feet,
"Cant we try a different treat?"

Nails clicking and clacking on the hardwood floor
Silvie danced near potatoes mom got at the store

"Fried to a crisp and covered in cheese,
Then topped with scallions, oh mama please!"

"Silvie, cheese fries are not healthy. At all. They have too much fat and sodium for a little puppy. You need vitamins and protein if you're going to grow properly. Plus, I don't even think you can digest all that dairy. You know, there is a reason everybody calls you 'Stinky'. Now, I'd be happy to cut up some carrots for you. Or how about some yummy green beans? You really need to start eating more yogurt. It's good for you."

Then, in a wrinkle, her little nose was able
To lead her around to the head of the table

And as soon as she got there, she widened her eyes
because there with her daddy was a plate of cheese fries!

"Could I taste just a nibble?" she practically sighed,

Tilting her floppy-eared head to the side.

Did it succeed or was it a failure?
Silvie would like to tell you but her belly is too full of cheese fries to continue this rhyming thing.

So. very. full.

and happy,

The Royal Wedding

Yes. IT arrived. I am a little shocked it arrived given OUR history, but I guess stiff British upper lip and protocol prevailed.

Am I going? Mhhh. Been thinking about it and I think I am going to say no. For many many many reasons.

I like William, and despite her penchant for fascinators, I also like Kate. But I am afraid that my past dealings with the Queen have left me with a bitterness that a simple invitation cannot overcome.

It all started with my evolution, you know, from rescue to royalty. Apparently that statement alone got the old girl's blood boiling. And it really curdled once I had the nerve to appear in print wearing one of my many tiaras. You guessed it. I got a visit from HRM's attache` who politely and in a very British snooty way informed me that "One does not evolve into royalty, one is born into it".... DUHHHHH. He then suggested I stop calling myself royalty immediately. You notice... the invite is for "MISS Silvieon4" and not HRM Silvieon4!!!!! Well you can guess how it went down from there.

One. I am born royalty. I am BICHON. My lineage predates the House of Windsor by more than a few centuries! Two, on this side of the pond the old girl is no more than a curiosity and I don't take orders from anyone we send packing 200+ years ago. Three, her failure to recognize my royal lineage is just that, HER failure. Talk about insecurity!!!! Four. I am who I am, a princess from my nose to my toes and she can lump it.

I considered putting in an appearance, if not for anything else, but to validate this pale conciliatory overture. Then it dawned on me. I am white. I am ... shall we say it out loud? I am pretty... and etiquette dictates that one should not wear white at a wedding, nor should one outshine the bride. Well, am I supposed to dip myself in ink and ugly up? HA, is that what this invitation is about? Some sort of etiquette imposed penance? Ahh... well played old girl! I pass.

I think I will call Fergie and hang out with her on April 29. I understand she will be on vacation. Maybe I will invite here, she can film for Finding Sarah, I am sure her new boss Oprah would love that.

I tell you, talk about royal pain in the butt!

Please consider this my RSVP- I will NOT be attending!

FLUNKING fostering ...

So, I listen in on my momma's phone calls all the time. (No, I am not nosy. I have a cute button nose that fits my face just perfectly.) I listen 'cause I learn. I want to understand more so I can be a better 4legged companion. So... in a way, I have to listen in! (Did you buy that???) Anyway. I just learned that Ferguson's foster family FLUNKED fostering.

When White Cottage gets too full, TBFR places dogs waiting to be adopted with qualified foster families. Ferguson went to a foster family. Last I heard he was doing well, they were doing well, then bam.... momma repeated "Ferguson's family flunked fostering." Ohhhh, my little heart sank into my toes. Flunking is a major failure. I immediately worried about Ferguson. I looked at momma's face for clues.

She was smiling. Odd. She was laughing... Odder... She clapped her hands...oddest.
You 2 leggeds are just awful to figure out. SOOOOO what is happening to Ferguson???
I was yapping that over and over and over at momma. But of course... she told me to hush and then she finished her conversation with auntie Robin. Me? I was going positively out of my ever loving curly white headed mind.

As soon as she hung up the phone, momma told the daddy that Ferguson's foster family
flunked. More smiles, more winks... thank God the daddy asked, "So, now that they have flunked, with Ferguson that makes how many???"

"Four" momma said.

Wait. What???? These people are repeated failures?????

Then momma to daddy, "Maybe we should foster that way we can flunk and I can get another Bichon!"

HOLD IT. Stop. When a family flunks foster they adopt???? So flunking is GOOD??
So... Ferguson is in his forever home?

I GIVE UP! My puppy heart cannot take it. You 2 leggeds exhaust me. Can't you be more straight forward?????

Happy HAPPY HAPPY birthday to the Wendy Pohh!

My dearest Wendy,
or as we call you, THE WENDY! Happy birthday darling. You are so loved!  From your beautiful face to you fabulous tail, from those deep soulful eyes, to that gorgeous nose, and those ticklish toes, we love you all!

The timid, scared, emotionally traumatized girl that you were has blossomed into a loving, sweet,
wonderful girl who is adored by all her humans, loved to pieces by her four leggeds and liked even by Cousin Cooper the cat.

You are the best hugger in the world. And your kisses are legendary. But, no Bichon can "talk" like you do! We all love you baby girl. I know you love momma!  When you ran to momma and bypassed the Dowi and the daddy, momma melted and she now knows that you know you are her girl, first, last, always.

Momma refers to JD as her mind. [She "done" lost her mind when she got him], You are her heart.  [She "done" lost her heart when she got you] and I am her soul. Apparently that was all that was left by the time I came along. Mhhh I have to think about that one.

But today is YOUR BIRTHDAY, so get ready for a super day filled with Wendy things!  Walks, chewies, belly rubs and snuggles and RIDESSSSSSSSS.

Happy Birthday big sis!
