Good morning world. Taking sage advice. Staring at the bushy tailed rat in my back yard and making a new secret goal....

LAZY sunday

It's raining, It is a wet lazy Sunday. Momma saw that I was licking my itches [I am 'lergic to something out there that makes me itchy], so, after breakfast she washed my itches, put medication on me and slipped on my red short which I HATE. But you know what? I am comfy, I am tired and I love my taco bed. Yes, JD, sorry, YOUR taco bed. So, I am going to zonk out for a while. Maybe the momma can make something yummy. Cinnamon sugar donuts are not my theng. So, I am not giving her credit for those. I am hoping for something really delicious. How about a pot au feu momma? I would love to wake up to that wonderful smell. And you have home made angel hair and that would be really yummy.

I am just trying to be helpful. I am suggesting things so you don't have to work so hard.

we still grieve , you are not forgotten

An invitation to fellow bloggers

This is your chance to have a 20 pound bag of dog food donated to a shelter simply for writing a blog post. The food drive is not limited to pet blogs. Here is the 411:

  • Each year, more than 4 million dogs end up in shelters and breed rescue organizations. Pedigree created The PEDIGREE Adoption Drive to help shine a spotlight on the plight of these homeless dogs. ADOPT DON'T SHOP
  • This year the PEDIGREE Adoption Drive is raising awareness for homeless dogs by donating a bowl of food to shelter dogs for everyone who becomes a “Fan” or “Likes” The PEDIGREE Adoption Drive on Facebook. So far more than 1 million bowls have been donated.
  • Special for BlogPaws West: For each blog that posts about the PEDIGREE® Adoption Drive through September 19th, PEDIGREE® will donate a bag of their new Healthy Longevity Food for Dogs to shelters nationwide.

  • So, here goes MY post Pedigree, so PAY UP!

  • Thursday, September 16 through Sunday, September 19, the Pedigree BlogPaws bloggers will host a Blog Hop, to help raise awareness for the “Write a post, help a dog” effort. We are joining to make a difference and we ask you to do the same. NOBODY should go hungry.
  • Cross, link, share, copy, whatever, just get the word out!
  • HEY blogging America, please join in! Show the world the power of bloggers.

And yes, I know I advocate home cooking, and that is still the case, but a 4legged in a shelter does not have a forever family to cook for him or her. We thank Pedigree for this drive.

some information on the Kimpton Hotels

I mentioned the Monaco Hotel, so I thought I give you all some real information on the it and on the Kimpton Hotels so here it is:

America's Best Dog-Friendly Hotels per Travel+Leisure magazine.

The Monaco, my hotel of choice is part of the Kimpton Hotels chain, multiple national locations. Here is the review for the Kipmton chain:

"Doggy Treats: It’s tough to find a hotel chain more attuned to pets. All of Kimpton’s hotels welcome dogs with beds, treats, and toys, and many properties even have their own dogs. A few, like the Hotel Monaco in Alexandria, VA, host a doggy happy hour twice a week where dogs can munch on complimentary treats and sip water while their owners enjoy their choice of alcoholic beverage. Guests who check into The Muse Hotel in New York City can sign up for a pet package that includes a welcome basket of treats, a dog umbrella, and a doggy mani-pedi. Or order up a dog-centered picnic basket at 70 Park Avenue Hotel—perfect for Central Park.

Rates: Prices vary with locations."

Dog Fee: None.

On a personal note. the staff at the Monaco is fantastic. The treat bags are wonderful, the locale and setting so dog friendly! And, did I mention Charlie?
Oh yes, I did. In a prior post.

Yes, I can travel anywhere with my family and I know we will ALL be comfy at the Kimpton. And no, I am not getting paid to say that. It is what it is. The truth.

Following up on the Barkley

So, I checked out the Barkley, rates, available accommodations and services. Mhh. Being four years old I find that I am not as easily fooled. They can call it whatever they want, but it is a glorified pet boarding service. I am lucky enough to be part of a family. They are my pack, my world. I don't see the value of paying sixty dirty papers per night to find myself alone in some "glorified" boarding place. My idea of a vacation is being with my family at a place like the Monaco hotel. There I get the best of all worlds! I get to be with my family, get pampered, and get premier accommodations fit for a princess and then there is ....Charlie. Swoon Charlie. He is director of guest relations and he is a fab Bichon. So to get me at the Barkley they need to do something else. I am sure that you guys feel the same way. Chica you had a grand vacation with your family, would you trade that for a stay at the Barkley? Ladybug, Chloe you vacation with your family, what do you think?

Now, if they assure me I will have my own two handed 24/7 on call belly rubbing, chewy dispensing petter.... Mhh I might just want todo a short weekend...

I need a belly rub, all this thinking about being away from my two leggeds is stressful

New hotel spa set to open for celebrity pets!

A new 32,000-square-foot hotel with private luxury suites, a salon, spa and even limousine transportation is set to open in an exclusive part of Los Angeles next month and they have just one rule: no humans allowed.

\
The Barkley
(get it?) is getting ready to open its doors in Westlake VIllage on October 25 and they are planning a giant grand opening with an A-list celebrity pet guest list. They are planning on doing their own version of Grauman's Chinese Theater and having famous pets put their paw prints in the cement outside the hotel.

We're told so far invitations have been extended to the pets of celebs like: Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Jennifer Aniston, Rihanna, Nicole Richie and more.

No word yet on who will actually show.
