Pinocchio Tomato

Momma has been too broken to mess around with her garden.  So... her garden has decided to run amok. The mint has officially taken over and we can actually hear it snicker when momma walks out to the patio, the rosemary is entwined with the lemon verbena and we have no idea what they are really doing. And the tomatoes. Well this one was picked and brought in because apparently it is carrying some sort of message.   I chose to call it Pinocchio, but that's because I am a sweet little girl. Others has expressed differing opinions as to what this tomato's message is. I leave it up to you, the reader to read the message....

If the peppers start carrying messages, I think it's time to get the gardener involved, or a priest  for an exorcism or something...

PS. does anyone have a recipe for a Pinocchio tomato?

The limititations of MONEY

I was half snoozing last night waiting for daddy to come home. I was worried about the drive from DC in rush hour traffic, in the rain. Half of me was literally giddy at the thought of seeing him and the other half of me was worried to death and flogging myself [emotionally that is] for being so selfish that I wanted him home even though I was putting him through the misery of that drive.
Momma must have been going through the same stuff, but her nervous energy is discharged in weird ways. She has this thing where every single appliance we own in engaged in "getting something done". So from the dishwasher, to the washing machine, to the vacuum, everything is going with the TV on the weather channel.   She has to spin herself into full exhaustion.

She left her I pad on open to the IM window,  cell phone at her side, and occasionally she followed Facebook, that is until  what the Vick... that whole conversation was brought up again...
Subway and Nike, really????? GAG ME without a spoon.

Well, this started me thinking. The biggest difference between two leggeds and four leggeds  is that two leggeds are trapped in the belief that money can buy you everything you could possibly want.  Listen up humans, I am now going to spill the beans, punch a hole in your belief system, try and re set your reality... Let's start with the basic. MONEY is nothing but dirty paper. It's value is arbitrarily assigned and while it functions to maintain the economic system  [I know that is arguable, but hey anything that is artificial and has arbitrary value.... is limited ....] OK let me illustrate my point further. What if you woke up one morning and money was no longer the economically accepted trading medium. What if the only things now "worth" something were monopoly pieces. Each piece would now be worth a defined value. Starting with the Scotty dog piece now worth the lowest denomination,  [just because it is not a Bichon]. The top hat would be worth the highest denomination... You get the idea. Imagine that now you would be walking around in pursuit of the mighty top hat.  Get it?

The point to all this discussion is that money is very limited in what it can buy.  In fact, anything of real value.... money can't buy.

Like, for example.... health,  happiness, self reliance, creativity, peace of mind, generosity, love, patience, a sense of humor, contentment, gratitude, joy, compassion, true friendship, good character, insight, emotional stability, purpose, a loving family, empathy, respect, integrity, self esteem, courage, admiration, time, self fulfillment, charm, wisdom, true love, reputation, doggy treats ,forgiveness, trust...

Think about it... can you ever be happy without any one of those?

So... what the Vick is the point of spending a bunch of money to hire an advertising agency to "clean up" your image and re- invent you, when money can't buy any of the things needed for a new you?  Subway and Nike, now that you have shot yourself in your foot [or footlong] sort of speak, do you think that this serves as atonement for the atrocities committed by your new spokesperson?

Some things that money can't buy... MUST BE EARNED.

Anyway, this kept my head busy until daddy came home.  And by the way the picture is of my Wendy being kissed, because she has my unconditional love, for now and for ever.  And money could not buy that!

what are you saying?

Posted by Picasa

I got the ride bit.I got the Carealot visit.I got the my having to behave, but what is that whole other discussion about? Wait. Back up eight words. Did you just say the judge might be coming home this weekend? The judge is my daddy! You can't make a fat sandwich of words and stuff in a tidbit like that! Unless you are trying to hide what you are saying! I am not The Wendy. I am listening. Now you owe it to me, so repeat what you said... I am confused about who needs a severe shower and why daddy's coming home depends on this shower. Ohhhhh...daddy might come home and you are worried because of the weather. I personally hate hate hate the rain, and showers and baths too... So who do I call, or where do I vote, how does this work...wait, I remember...reverse rain dance, we did that for the bash once. It worked too! Ok, leave this up to me, I am getting my buds together, and we are going to be reverse rain dancing because I want my daddy home!!!

It's all about understanding... communication...

Some dreams are worth falling asleep for

Good morning world! Wake up! I fell asleep to the sound of rain last night. I love that. Gentle rain, that is,  not thunder and accouterments. The thing is, sometimes, the dream that sleep engages you in, is so good that waking up to reality can be a real disappointment. There I am trying to process the dream and to sort it out from reality.   Mh. Great dream. But I can't write off the day so early in the morning, just because the dream was so great, can I?   That would pretty much make me want to give up dreaming for fear of disappointment when I wake up. No no no no.
There is only one way out of this. It is the only reasonable way out.  Give yourself time to "digest" that dream before you actually put paws to the floor, and then, BE INSPIRED by the dream.

So maybe you can't grow wings and become Madame President, but maybe you can make everyone in the house part of your transition back to reality.  You know, be PRESIDENT FOR THE DAY and  be carried everywhere. Now, that will make the day special and you don't have to feel disappointed!  I think everyone here will go along, nobody wants a depressed Silvieon4. She is NOT fun.

I like it.  JD you could be my Sec of State, Wendy you could be my VP.... Momma wants to be a Kissinger... what is that???

Claim your spot in my administration, really momma, "Minister of silly walks???" ... First  you want to be a Kissinger  [is that some German car???] now Minister of silly walks???? You are not taking me seriously. You are frittering away a golden opportunity. You could be the new head of the FDA, I know you could make some changes there!

I am doing it. As Madame President, I would like eggs and ham for breakfast and I would like to like a Marmite dipped spoon. Please, carry me to the family room.

Madame President  'vie

PS/. I would like round ice cubes in my water.   I have just discovered those and I like them.

Happy FOURTH of JULY!!!!

Momma decided to dress us for the Fourth of July.  She was so excited about our new dresses that all she could do was rip the bags open, take them off the hangers and  put them on us.
I am told that the 4th of  July is important because on this day in 1776, the Declaration of Independence was approved by the Continental Congress, setting the 13 colonies on the road to freedom as a sovereign nation.   How ironic. On this day of Independence momma decided to "Dress us".  This is Wendy dressed in a chic black and white polka dot cinched at the waist with a beautiful satin bow. Momma called it quintessential elegance.

Notice who is hiding her face? The Wendy.

This is me. Momma said I am a girl who can wear red and shine. She said, some can't. Red is a strong color and for some a red dress wears them. I am trying to understand how. But I do believe momma.

The dress is just the start I now have to get brushed. Momma is looking at her phone...ahh the calendar. My next appointment with Miss Margie.... I have to figure out how to work that thing and delete some stuff....

Wendy will not even pose with me for one picture.  This is serious!  She really hates the dress.

She says it's beyond hate. Loathes the "old lady frumpy thing" And she hates polka dots.. And she never wants to hear that black is slimming again!!!! The dresses are the exact same size... that's actually true.

I am just watching the drama. I have never seen The Wendy throw such a hissy fit.  I want to look good for the Fourth, so I am just waiting for everyone else to be ready.

I think momma loves me, so I will suffer in this dress [I love naked best] and let her have her Fourth of July like she wants it. Hey Wendy... this is when they do the ribs, burgers, steaks, hot dogs.... I am just reminding you... I think a little cooperation will have its own rewards...  I am just saying...

happy fourth,
